Hello there, stranger.
It’s been a little too long since I’ve shown my face around this neck of the woods, hasn’t it? Believe it or not, I actually have a legitimate excuse this time! No, really.
Back in January, I officially decided not to renew my contract here in Fukui, which means my time as a JET is officially coming to an end in late July. As a result, the majority of my free time over the past few months have been spent frantically looking for a new job in Tokyo―a stressful endeavour that I am happy to announce is done and dusted.
While living in Fukui for these past few years has been unforgettable for many reasons―good and bad, but mostly good, I swear―I’m incredibly excited to start this new chapter of my life in Tokyo. Sure, there is definitely a part of me that is a little worried that I’ll have trouble adjusting to life in the capital, but I also won’t be dealing with the insane morning rush thanks to a later starting time at my new job, so it shouldn’t be too bad… right?
I’m currently in the progress of looking for a place in Tokyo, but now that I’ve got a job locked down, I’m feeling much less stressed about getting ready for the move in two months. Not sure how often I’ll be updating this blog in the meantime, but hopefully more than I have been… famous last words.
Until next time (whenever that is)
